Vanguard Innovation’s latest film describes how we ran a successful project to explore the benefits of the latest technology in cancer pathology.
Digital pathology is a system that captures a digital image of human tissue samples that can be shared very quickly among specialists and can potentially reduce the time to reach a diagnosis.
Currently, a microscope is used to examine the tissue on glass slides which must then be physically transported to other specialists if a second opinion is needed, which can lead to delays.
All seven trusts that provide pathology services in Greater Manchester took part in the project.
