Greater Manchester Cancer Vanguard Innovation

Our Faster Diagnosis project team outlined their plans to an appreciative audience at our latest Showcase.

The project aims to give patients either a confirmed diagnosis of cancer or the exclusion of cancer within 28 days of referral from a GP. It also aims to assess the impact on patients of such an accelerated process.

The team described the project’s approach to working in partnership across primary and secondary care and explained how they hoped to make recommendations for commissioners and providers about how to streamline diagnosis.

The team consisted of Implementation Manager Lisa Galligan-Dawson, from Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Project Manager Melissa Surgey, from Bolton CCG, Clinical Lead Nurse Martina Kingscott, from Bolton NHS FT, and User Involvement representative David McLenachan.

Their presentation can be seen here.
